A studio of architectural materials,
presented as a catalogue.
Cadence designs and makes the most considered objects in a building: windows, doors, and the small details of the threshold. This first catalogue gathers eight objects, photographed on cyclorama, measured to the millimetre, and labelled like the works they are.
Each piece is built in Montréal, in editions where it is meaningful, in open production where the architecture asks for it.
Slow drawing.
Careful making.
Quiet rooms.
We make a small number of objects, very carefully. Each one is drawn, modelled, prototyped, and finished by hand before it leaves the atelier. We work with architects who care about the seam, the sill, and the way a door closes.
