02 · Facility

A facility built around
the opening, not the machine.

Our floor is laid out as a continuous production loop: overhead conveyors move work-in-progress between cutting, joinery, glazing, finishing and packing without ever touching the ground.

CNC joinery hall 01

A CNC joinery hall around the millwright bench.

Three 5-axis SCM cells and an Altendorf sliding-table saw feed a central millwright bench where each frame is hand-finished before glazing. WIP never touches the floor.

Glazing line 02

An IGU and laminate line with full traceability.

Argon-filled triple-glazing unit (IGU) line with automated spacer bending, desiccant filling and laser-etched serial tracking on every pane.

QA laboratory 03

In-house tests against EN, NAFS and ISO standards.

Air leakage (ASTM E283), water penetration (ASTM E331), structural (E330) and acoustic chamber. Every shipment ships with a signed lab report.

Architects welcome 04

Architects and PMs sit at the millwright bench.

Brand teams, designers and construction managers come to the floor every week — first articles and PP samples are signed off in person, not over email.

06 · Our story

Three generations on
the same workshop floor.

Cadence was founded by carpenters at the very edge of Saint-Henri. Six decades on, the discipline that made the first frame still shapes how we run every order today.

  1. 01
    1962

    Founded

A workshop of nine carpenters in Saint-Henri, Montréal, takes its first commission: hardwood casement windows for a row of Plateau triplexes.

  2. 02
    1989

    Industrialised

First fully-industrial joinery floor, dedicated cutting room and a 40-person QA team. The atelier begins working directly with North-American architectural firms.

  3. 03
    2010

    Modernised

CNC joinery cells installed. In-house glazing line and QA laboratory commissioned. ISO 9001 and FSC chain-of-custody audited and passed.

  4. 04
    Today

    Vertically integrated

Four product families, an on-site sample studio, and a sourcing team that audits every mill we buy from. Run by the founders' grandchildren.
